About the Author
Founder and designer of Alli K Design. You may have known her from high school as the girl who doodled all over everything and had handwritten notes that looked like a computer font. She’s been practicing her handwriting ever since she can remember, and she’s been putting that practice to good use these days with Alli K Design. Alli K Design is all she’s ever known, transitioning straight out of college into her own design company and turning that handwriting practice into a professional practice and those random doodles into expert illustrations. A typical day for Alli includes: Going to Chick-Fil-A (typically two, okay maybe three times a day), hanging and working at her studio. Along with her love of all things Chick-Fil-A, she’s also a big fan of the color black. Not only is it the main color of the ink that fills her pages and designs, but it’s also the basis of her wardrobe.

BEST how-to book I've ever bought!

I bought this book because I needed to learn the foundation of drawing flowers. I was never terrible before but it was always a hit or miss and often times I'd be sitting there staring at my page thinking I don't know what I'm doing at all. But I bought the book and saw results that I would have never DREAMED of, and the crazy part is that they were instant. I started doodling and I'm like what the heck I can actually draw! Most how-to books give you some tips and it takes time but somehow Alli dummy-proofed this and it blew my mind! Seriously, amazing! Can't wait to have more time to go through it all. Thanks Alli for sharing your knowledge and making me feel so much more confident in my ability to draw!

A FANTASTIC book that you MUST purchase

Alli is an amazing, influential, and inspirational artist that has been so kind to share her knowledge of floral drawings in this book. When I first pre-ordered this book in February, I hadn’t realized the hardcover and paperback version had two different release dates and I had ordered the paperback version. I was ready to wait it out until September for the release until Alli posted a photo on her Instagram regarding her book release in April, I immediately checked whether I was able to cancel and changed my pre-order and it was one of the best decision I ever made! The book arrived on Easter Sunday, only 1 day after it was officially release! (Thank you Amazon Prime!)
Not only is this book stunning to flip through, Alli’s step-by-steps are so easy and simple to follow, it makes me wonder how I ever drew florals before this book! It has a great variety of different florals along with a couple of cacti and succulents but I was also impressed with the pages where she provided different views/variations from some of the featured flowers. Florals have always been one of my favorite elements to draw and I have seen a significant improvement in my drawings after reading through Alli’s book.
Whether you are a beginner or expert, if you’re looking to get into floral drawings and do not know where to start, I would 100% recommend purchasing this book!

Can't draw a stick figure, but now I can draw a gardenia!

I can't draw, like at all, but I loved the description of this book so much that I took a chance. C's and s's? I think I can handle that... I've spent the last couple of years practicing handlettering and really wanted to learn how to sketch a little to add to my illustrations. Alli's instructions are broken into simple, easy to build on steps and when you put them all together, there's this beautiful flower. I purchased this book fully expecting to fail, but I've impressed myself and found a really fun new hobby. Thanks Alli!
PS I bought the hardcover book and it's beautifully well-made and I like that it lays perfectly flat while I'm working.
