Excellent translation -- very enlightening

There is of course, no perfect translation. But this one seems to me to come as close as possible. There are bits I disagree with, and I haven't read the whole thing yet, but overall, I don't think you could do better than Rotherham. I love the emphasis marks as well as the cross references and footnotes.
As others have noted, the printing plates seem to have worn down in places, causing parts of letters to be omitted here and there. Only in one place so far has there been any doubt as to whether a word was this or that -- and context made it quickly clear. Still, it would be nice to have it touched up a bit. I realize this is most likely a labor of love, keeping this version in print, and I very much appreciate it.
The electronic versions I have (e-sword and Kindle) don't have the emphasis marks -- at least not in the same form. They have a lot of oddly placed commas. And the e-sword module has got half-words, missing words, wrong words sprinkled around here and there -- fairly commonly. If you know the word, you'll quickly pick up on even the accidentally plausible wrong words. Again, a labor of love and we must be grateful for that to which we did not contribute. ;)
But the print version is by far the best of the three and I'm very glad to have been able to buy it!

A good bible to have as reference. The Kindle format is easy to use and one can zero in on specific verses easily. Rotherham is very precise in his choice of words but why in the world did he have to choose the pedantic style of King James old English when no-one spoke that way when he lived. Vanity? Who knows. It would have been so nice to have expressed what he meant to express in the idiom we have been speaking in the last one hundred years.

This is a most excellent translation of the Bible. Some other versions don't speak as clearly the original text and meaning as the Rotherham does. May the Word of the Lord be magnified and worshiped worthily.
